Gruyere + Lemon Aioli Burger on Pretzel Bun

Prep: 15 Minutes Cooking: 15 Minutes Serves: 4

For the Lemon Aioli

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 gloves of minced garlic
  • Juice from ½ lemon
  • Sprinkle of lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For the Burger

  • 4 Born Free eggs
  • 4 pretzel hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices of Gruyère cheese
  • 4 leaves green leaf lettuce
  • Sliced tomato
  • 1 tbs salt
  • 1 tbs pepper

For the Lemon Aioli:

1. Add all the ingredients together in a medium bowl. Stir until fully combined and set aside until ready to serve.

For the Burger:

  1. Flatten ground beef into round patties slightly larger than bun size (as they will shrink when fully cooked). Season each side with salt and pepper and add to greased skillet on medium-high heat, then cook until top begins to turn a dark red (about 4 minutes per side). Flip and check for same results, then add Gruyère cheese to the top. Cook through thoroughly.
  2. In a separate heated pan, greased with a small amount of olive oil, crack one Born Free egg at a time on medium-high heat to fry. When the egg has started to cook, lower heat and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Remove burger with cheese from pan and assemble your burger with pretzel bun, burger and cheese, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, and lastly add your Lemon Aioli.
